Arriving in Paris in 1910, Baranoff-Rossiné discovers a radical new artistic scene marked by the heritage of Cézanne. The great retrospective of Cézanne's work in 1907 is regarded as one of the founding moments of modern art, especially due to its influnce on Cubism. In La Carrière we can see a hommage from the young Baranoff-Rossiné to Cézanne's La Montaigne Sainte Victoire of 1890. However, more than a simple imitation, Baranoff-Rossiné adds his own Cubo-Futurist touch to the master's Post-impressionnist style, in a work of great chromatic and formal grace.

Arrivé à Paris en 1910, Baranoff-Rossiné découvre une scène artistique radicalement nouvelle, marquée par l'héritage de Cézanne. La grande rétrospective de l'œuvre de Cézanne en 1907 est considérée comme l'un des moments fondateurs de l'art moderne, notamment en raison de son influence sur le cubisme.

Dans La Carrière, on peut voir un hommage du jeune Baranoff-Rossiné à La Montaigne Sainte Victoire de Cézanne de 1890. Cependant, plus qu'une simple imitation, Baranoff-Rossiné ajoute sa propre touche cubo-futuriste au style post-impressionniste du maître, dans une œuvre d'une grande grâce chromatique et formelle.
