Paris, capitale du dessin

Les Echos, Mars 27, 2026
Until 30 March, Paris becomes the capital of drawing. The epicentre of this cultural event is the Palais Brongniart, where the 34th edition of the Salon du Dessin celebrates the various facets of this graphic art, with 39 galleries from seven countries taking part this year. Running alongside the fair, Drawing Week takes place ‘beyond the walls’ with private viewings organised by numerous partner Parisian museums, such as the Musée de l’Armée, the Petit Palais, the Musée d’Orsay, the Gustave Moreau Museum, the Musée de Montmartre, the Musée Cognacq-Jay and the Académie des Beaux-Arts. “The drawings that appeal today often have a strong visual aesthetic,” says Benjamin Peronnet, of the gallery of the same name and an exhibitor. For him, “selecting a work of quality depends on the artist’s reputation, the condition of the sheet and, above all, the history of the work, particularly if it is a study produced prior to a painting”.
