Among the 76 exhibitors at this year’s event, certain galleries stand out, such as the Jean-François Cazeau Gallery, which showcases major female artists associated with Pop Art: Dominique Fury, Niki de Saint Phalle and Yayoi Kusama. These three artists share a colourful, expressive and exuberant aesthetic, addressing themes such as consumer society, life and death, and the representation of the female body. As demonstrated by Dominique Fury’s work, Cyber Pussies, which is a feminist response to Courbet’s The Origin of the World. Meanwhile, for the artist Yayoi Kusama, her Uchu series explores her research into the repetition of patterns, which spread uniformly across the canvas as if spilling out of the frame.
