Plus d'information
Picasso's definitive stay in the South of France coincides wioth his encounter and start of the collaboration with ceramist Suzanne Ramié of the Madoura studio in Vallauris. For Picasso ceramics are a way to return to the themes of his Mediterranean childhood, and fauns populate his works of the time among other subjects.
This joyous depiction of a singing faun clearly shows the influence Spanish ceramics had on the artist in its colour-scheme.
