T'ang Haywen 1927-1991
T'ang Haywen is nowadays recognized as one of the great ink masters of the Post-War period. The diptych is his format of predilection, enabling the artist to anchor the spectator's gaze in the center of the composition.
His work is held in museum collections all over the world, from the Guimet Museum in Paris, the M+ Museum of modern art in Hong Kong and the Art Institute of Chicago. The Guimet Museum has dedicated a retrospective exhibition to his work in 2024.
