Niki de Saint Phalle developped her own fantastical and colourful Bestiary all throughout her artistic career : birds, serpents, cats, cows, and even dragons, to name a few.

Starting from the 1980s, the artist will reflect on the marriage between ordinary, functional objects and sculpture. Thus are born her sculptures-mobilier, including various vases, all rendered in her characteristic vocabulary of bright motifs.
