The Galerie Jean-François Cazeau and the CSEDT present the 7th edition of “La Semaine des Galeries Parisiennes de l'Estampe et du Dessin” (Parisian Galleries Week for Prints and Drawings).

The Parisian Galleries Week program offers visitors the opportunity to discover original and previously unseen works selected by passionate professionals.

The Galerie Jean-François Cazeau presents an exhibition by photographer Pierre Jahan (1909-2003) entitled “Photograms and Rayograms: 1940-1950.” A pioneer of modern photography, Jahan considered this medium to be an art of freedom and pleasure, following in the footsteps of Man Ray, Dora Maar, and Henri Cartier-Bresson. An explorer of experimental techniques—photograms, rayograms, double exposures, photomontages, and photocollages—he was able to reveal the artistic potential of photography.

The exhibition highlights “L'Herbier surréaliste” (1945-1948), a series in which plant forms and photographic images intermingle, between science and poetry.
