Plus d'information
Paul-Elie Ranson joins the Nabis group at the moment of its creation by Sérusier in 1888, becoming one of its founders. He takes great inspiration from Japanese woodcuts, especially in his flattening of lines and perspectives.
The Guignol Anatole, representing a true turn of the century guignol, is an important theme for the Nabis. The decorative frize entouring the composition, the flat perspective, the characters are all indicative of the height of the Nabis group.
