The Dove is, perhaps, one of Picasso's most iconic subjects from the Post-War Period, reprised in drawings, lithographs and even ceramics, a celebration of the peace that finally arrived in Europe.
The artist's ceramics are always highly biomorphic : here Picasso uses the form of the ceramic vessel in order to create the bird.
