Pierre Jahan Français, 1909-2003
Poisson, 1938
Epreuve gélatino argentique
21 x 27 cm
Monotype
Made around 1938, this little known photo by Pierre Jahan astounds through its modernity, decades before Irving Penn will photograph fish bones on a plate. A careful staging and rendition of an everyday, ordinary scene, this photograph presents a very pictorial approach in its composition.
