Pablo Picasso Espagnol, 1881-1973
Pablo Picasso (1881–1973) est un peintre, sculpteur, graveur et céramiste espagnol, naturalisé français en 1901. Il s’installe à Paris au début du XXe siècle et devient rapidement l’une des figures majeures de l’art moderne.
Son œuvre traverse de nombreuses périodes, parmi lesquelles les périodes bleue et rose, puis le cubisme, qu’il développe notamment avec Georges Braque. Tout au long de sa carrière, Picasso expérimente de nombreux médiums et renouvelle constamment son langage artistique, passant de la peinture à la sculpture, à la gravure, au dessin ou encore à la céramique.
Installé dans le sud de la France après la Seconde Guerre mondiale, il poursuit son activité jusqu’à sa mort en 1973.
